Series Land Rover: Chassis - galvanised steel but rust is endemic. Check outriggers, crossmembers, spring hangers, bulkhead mounts. Bulkhead footwells rust badly. Engine 2.25 petrol/diesel simple and reliable. Oil leaks expected. Gearbox crash box (I/II) or synchro (IIA onwards). Aluminium body doesn't rust but check for electrolytic corrosion.
