Engine: M111 four reliable - head gasket on higher mileage. M104 six excellent. M112 V6 reliable. OM605/OM611 diesel - injectors, EGR. Body: W202 can rust - check arches, sills, subframe mounts. Better than W210 but inspect carefully. Transmission: 722.4/722.6 auto reliable. Wiring: Biodegradable on early cars. General: Solid platform when rust-free. Facelift (1997+) improved quality.
