The substantially revised Murciélago with enlarged 6.5-liter V12 producing 631 horsepower. Revised styling sharpened the design while improved aerodynamics enhanced high-speed stability. The LP 640 represented Lamborghini finally achieving contemporary build quality while maintaining traditional theatrical drama.

E-gear (automated manual) hydraulic systems require maintenance and eventual failure. Clutch wear expensive to address. Air conditioning systems struggle in extreme heat. Electronics more complex than previous generations. Front suspension bushings wear. Exhaust manifold cracking possible. Brake feel can be inconsistent. However, generally much more reliable than previous Lamborghini V12s thanks to Audi quality control.
