2004 MG ZR

The MG ZR 105 (2001-2005) was the entry-level sporting hatchback based on the Rover 25. The 1.4-litre K-series produced 103hp with lowered sports suspension, bodykit and MG badging. An affordable hot hatch alternative that offered genuine fun-to-drive character at modest running costs.

K-series head gasket less stressed in 1.4 form but still check. Thermostat failure causes overheating. Interior plastics brittle. Subframe mounts crack. Door seals perish. Bodykits crack and discolour. Rear beam axle bushes wear.

Express or Trophy edition. Air conditioning. Full service history. Head gasket documented replacement. Low mileage clean examples increasingly sought.
