2013 Porsche 911 (991) Carrera Cabriolet - Manual

The 991 Carrera (2011-2019) represented a major evolution for the 911, with a longer wheelbase, wider track, and significantly lighter construction using aluminium and steel hybrid bodywork. The initial 3.4-litre flat-six produced 350hp, later replaced by a 3.0-litre twin-turbo unit with the same output in the 991.2 facelift. The 991 brought the 911 firmly into the modern era with electric power steering, PDK dual-clutch transmission, and advanced electronics while retaining the essential 911 character. Build quality and reliability improved significantly over the 997.

Engine: 991.1 (3.4 NA) - IMS bearing not a concern (redesigned). Check for oil leaks, air-oil separator. 991.2 (3.0T) - Turbo system generally reliable. Coolant pipes can leak on early cars. Transmission: PDK robust but check for shudder at low speeds. Manual gearbox excellent. Suspension: PASM dampers can leak (expensive). Front lift system if fitted. Brakes: PCCB ceramics expensive if fitted - check thickness and condition. Electrics: PCM screen can fail. Rear camera. General: Check for software updates. IMS lawsuit settlement (991.1 only - verify status).
