TR6: Engine: 2.5 straight-six - smooth and torquey. PI: Lucas mechanical injection complex but specialists can make it reliable. Many converted to carbs (accept 20% value reduction). Both: Timing chain, oil leaks, potential overheating. Gearbox: Four-speed with optional overdrive (essential). Differential: Can whine. Chassis: Separate chassis rusts - check outriggers (critical), crossmembers, spring hangers. Body: Karmann-built steel - sills, floors, rear wings, door bottoms rust. IRS trailing arm mounts: Check thoroughly. Values: Strong market. PI premium. Budget £2-4k annually.
