1957 AC Ace Bristol Roadster

The AC Ace Bristol (1957-1963) was the most desirable variant, fitted with the sophisticated Bristol 2.0-litre six-cylinder engine derived from the pre-war BMW 328. Producing 105-128hp depending on tune, it offered significantly better performance than the AC-engined cars. The Bristol engine was silky smooth with excellent torque characteristics. Around 460 Ace Bristols were built, making it the most common variant. The gentleman's sports car of choice. Values from £200k.

Requires specialist knowledge. The engine is the most valuable part of the car. Carburettor tuning critical. Cooling adequate but check. Gearbox - Bristol or AC unit, both serviceable.
