MINI R53 Cooper S: Supercharger can fail (whine, rattle) - check carefully. Intercooler spray (verify working). Timing chain tensioner. Thermostat housing plastic cracks. Head gasket on high mileage. Clutch wears quickly with spirited driving. Electric power steering pump failures (£300+). Budget £2-4k annually. Great fun but needs care.
