The MGB GT (1965-1980) added a handsome Pininfarina-designed fastback body to the MGB formula. The enclosed cabin improved touring ability and rear seats could accommodate small children. Slightly heavier but better balanced than the roadster. The chrome bumper GT is considered one of the best affordable classic grand tourers.
All MGB rust concerns apply, plus check hatchback seal area and rear quarter panels. Rear suspension mounts crack. Heating system less effective than roadster. Check for accident damage around B-pillar - common shunt area. Tailgate hinges wear.
Chrome bumpers, overdrive, wire wheels, V8 or Limited Edition specification. Sunroof (factory or period). GT V8 spec conversion with documentation.
