Known Issues to Watch For

W168/W169: Check for rust on older cars. Sandwich floor construction unique. CVT on early cars can be problematic. W176: M270 engine generally reliable. Dual-clutch (DCT) on early cars had issues - check for shudder and judder. Later improved. W177: M260/M282 engines reliable. 7G-DCT better than earlier DCT. AMG: M139 high-stress engine - ensure full service history. General: W176/W177 are well-engineered. Service at dealer recommended for AMG.
