The original MGA (1955-1959) introduced MGs revolutionary streamlined body design, replacing the traditional pre-war styling. With its 1489cc B-series engine producing 68hp, it could reach 95mph. The first MG to feature rack and pinion steering, establishing a new direction for the marque.
Floor pan rust is endemic - check inner sills and battery box area. Rear wheel cylinders prone to seizure. Gearbox synchromesh weak on 2nd gear. Rear axle seals often leak onto brake drums.
Factory hardtop (rare), wire wheels, heater, tonneau cover. Competition options: twin-carb setup, oil cooler. Original tools and handbook.
