The R107 280 SL (1974-1985) used the M110 2.8-litre twin-cam six producing 185hp. The entry-level R107 offered the SL experience with reasonable running costs. Good examples are appreciating as the R107 generation gains collector recognition.
Engine: M110 six reliable. M116/M117 V8s robust but check for timing chain wear on high mileage. Oil leaks common. Transmission: Auto most common - 722.3/722.4 generally reliable. Manual rare.
