About the Giulietta Sprint
The Giulietta Sprint (1954-1965) was the Bertone-designed coupe that brought twin-cam performance to the masses. 1290cc four producing 80-100hp. Beautiful proportions and involving drive. Around 27,000 built. Values from £40k.
Known Issues to Watch For
Classic Alfa: Engine - twin-cam designs are wonderful but need regular care. Timing chain (every 50k), valve adjustment, oil leaks. Carburettors need proper setup. Gearbox - check synchros especially 2nd. Transaxle cars (Alfetta) - check flex coupling and rear bearings. Body - RUST IS CRITICAL. Floors, sills, inner wings, boot floor, A-pillars. Steel construction corrodes. Many restored - verify quality. Budget £3-6k annually.
