The MGB Roadster (1962-1980) became the best-selling MG of all time with over 500,000 produced. The unibody construction was revolutionary, offering a stiffer shell than the separate-chassis MGA. The 1798cc B-series engine produced 95hp initially, later detuned for emissions. Chrome bumper cars (pre-1975) are most sought after.
Rust is the primary enemy - check sills, floor pans, front wings, door bottoms, and rear wheel arches. Overdrive units fail if oil level drops. Rear leaf springs sag. 1975+ rubber bumper cars have raised ride height affecting handling. Engine prone to overheating if cooling system neglected.
Chrome bumpers (pre-1975), overdrive, wire wheels, hardtop. Limited Edition models. Original radio, heater. Matching numbers. Heritage shell cars acceptable if documented.
