About the Evora
The Lotus Evora (2009-2021) was Lotus's first all-new car since the Elise. Mid-engine 2+2 with Toyota V6 (276-430hp). Larger and more refined than Elise/Exige but still lightweight. Outstanding handling with genuine GT capability. Around 6,700 built.
Known Issues to Watch For
Engine: Toyota 2GR-FE - extremely reliable naturally aspirated. Chain-driven. Gearbox: Toyota manual or auto - excellent. Chassis: Bonded aluminium - more robust than Elise. A/C: Works properly. Interior: Better than other Lotus but still quirky. Budget £3-4k annually. Most reliable modern Lotus.
