The Rolls-Royce Phantom VII (2003-2017) was the first Rolls-Royce designed under BMW ownership, built at Goodwood. The 6.75-litre V12 produced 453hp. Suicide doors, magnificent presence. Around 4,500 built.

Phantom VII: Engine: BMW N73 V12 - reliable but: VANOS issues possible, coil packs, valve stem seals on high-mileage cars. Gearbox: ZF 6-speed - excellent. Suspension: Air - generally reliable but expensive when faulty. Convertible: Check roof operation, seals. Budget £5-10k annually.
