Mercedes-Benz SL-Class
W113 - W113 (Pagoda)
Price on request
The W113 230 SL (1963-1967) introduced the iconic "Pagoda" roofline that defines this generation. The 2.3-litre M127 inline-six produced 150hp with fuel injection. The 230 SL established Mercedes as a builder of refined sports cars that could be driven daily. As the first Pagoda, it's historically significant, though later models offered more performance.
Engine: M127 reliable but fuel injection system needs specialist knowledge. Check for smoke (valve guides). Cooling system critical. Transmission: Manual or auto both robust. Body: Rust is the enemy - check floors, sills, inner wings, boot floor, door bottoms. Subframe mounts. Chrome: Expensive to restore. Soft top: Check frame and fabric. Hardtop: Verify present and matching. Electrics: Simple but earth points corrode. Generally well-built but restoration costs can be substantial.
Manual gearbox (rare), Both tops present (soft and hard), Air conditioning, Power steering, Matching numbers, Good chrome, Rust-free bodywork, Service history
