The Morgan Plus 8 (1968-2004) fitted the Rover V8 into the traditional Morgan. 3.5-4.6 litre V8 with 160-272hp. Stunning performance in a handcrafted body. Around 6,000 built. The most exciting traditional Morgan. Values from £40k.

Plus 8 (Classic): Chassis - widened Z-section as 4/4 but check carefully as V8 stresses it more. Engine - Rover V8 well understood. Check for overheating (common), head gaskets, timing chain (later engines). Various specs from 3.5 to 4.6 litres. Gearbox - Rover LT77/R380, check synchros. Body - steel or aluminium, ash frame as other Morgans. Performance - these are genuinely fast and need respect. Budget £4-6k annually.
