The MG TA (1936-1939) was the first of the T-Type series, replacing the PB. It featured a 1292cc MPJG engine producing 50hp with a synchromesh gearbox - a first for MG. Hydraulic brakes improved safety. 3,003 were produced, establishing the template for subsequent T-Types.
Chassis rust particularly around spring hangers. MPJG engine parts scarcer than later XPAG. Hydraulic brake system needs regular maintenance. Wood-framed body requires specialist inspection. Electrical system 6-volt and troublesome.
Airline Coupe body (very rare). Tickford drophead (factory option). Original tool kit. Matching numbers essential for value. Good provenance documentation.
