About the Skyline GT-R V-Spec
The R33 V-Spec introduced active LSD integration with ATTESA E-TS Pro system, larger brakes, and revised suspension geometry. Featured distinctive 17-inch RAYS wheels and stiffer chassis. Improved lap times over standard GT-R with better balance and grip. More common than limited editions but still highly desirable. Offers enhanced performance with better value than special editions.
Known Issues to Watch For
Same RB26DETT issues as R32 - head gaskets, oil pump drive collar, ceramic turbo failures. Additional weight makes them feel slightly less agile than R32. ATTESA transfer case bushings wear. Dashboard cracking common. Power steering pump failures. Rear subframe corrosion if not properly maintained. Some suffer from sagging doors due to weight. ECU capacitor degradation on older units.
Desirable Options
NISMO aero parts. V-Spec equipment if not factory fitted. Aftermarket turbo upgrades. Quality coilover suspension. LM Limited documentation for that variant. Full service records. Low mileage Japanese examples. Verified NISMO 400R provenance with build number documentation.
