1976 MGB GT, 1798cc. Registration number KLV 700R. Chassis number GHD5-406345G. Engine number removed from the block. Sold with the V5C, keys, large folder of receipts for parts. The Mk III MGB was introduced in October 1971, with a revised interior, with centre console housing rocker switches and two vents in the middle. The MGB GT (1965-1980) added a handsome Pininfarina-designed fastback body to the MGB formula. The enclosed cabin improved touring ability and rear seats could accommodate small children. Slightly heavier but better balanced than the roadster. The chrome bumper GT is considered one of the best affordable classic grand tourers.
All MGB rust concerns apply, plus check hatchback seal area and rear quarter panels. Rear suspension mounts crack. Heating system less effective than roadster. Check for accident damage around B-pillar - common shunt area. Tailgate hinges wear.
Chrome bumpers, overdrive, wire wheels, V8 or Limited Edition specification. Sunroof (factory or period). GT V8 spec conversion with documentation.
