The 570S was McLaren's core Sports Series car and arguably the most important model in the range commercially. It brought the full McLaren experience - carbon tub, twin-turbo V8, dihedral doors - to a more accessible price point. With 562hp and the MonoCell chassis, performance was genuine supercar territory: 0-62mph in 3.2 seconds, 204mph top speed. The 570S competed directly with the Porsche 911 Turbo and Audi R8, offering a more exotic alternative with genuine racing heritage. Many consider it the sweet spot of the Sports Series range.
Engine: M838TE V8 generally reliable. Check for oil leaks around turbos. Coolant tank can crack on early cars. Gearbox: SSG 7-speed - clutch wear on tracked cars (£5-7k replacement). Suspension: PCC system - listen for hydraulic pump. Check dampers for leaks. Brakes: Carbon ceramics standard - check for glazing and wear. Electrical: Door mechanisms occasionally sticky. Infotainment can glitch. Body: Front clam chips easily. Panel gaps. General: Better build quality than earlier McLarens. Service history essential.
Sports exhaust (huge improvement), Carbon fibre packs (exterior and interior), MSO options, Vehicle lift, Track Pack, Security pack, Meridian audio upgrade, Electric seats, Nose lift, Low mileage, Full McLaren service history
