The McLaren GT redefined what a McLaren could be - a genuine grand tourer with 420 litres of luggage space, luxurious interior, and compliant ride, all built on the familiar carbon tub with the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8. With 612hp, performance remained emphatic: 0-62mph in 3.2 seconds, 203mph top speed. But the GT could also swallow golf bags and suitcases, had the most refined cabin of any McLaren, and could cover continents in comfort. It proved McLaren could build more than pure sports cars.
