The Lotus Cortina (1963-1970) was Ford's homologation special for racing. Lotus twin-cam engine with 105-109hp in a lightweight Cortina shell. Outstanding handling. Rally and touring car champion. The definitive 1960s sports saloon. Values from £40k.

Gearbox: Close ratio box desirable but fragile. Differential: Standard Cortina - adequate. A-frame: Check rear suspension mounting points. Many modified or restored to varying quality.
