Engine: M110 six reliable. M116/M117 V8 robust - timing chain at high mileage. OM617/OM603 diesel legendary. Body: W126 is well-galvanised but check sills, inner wings, floor on older cars. SLS: Self-levelling rear standard on SEL - check operation. Vacuum: Various systems. General: One of the best-built Mercedes. Well-maintained examples are excellent.
