About the Chimaera 4.0
Grand touring TVR launched 1992 alongside Griffith. Longer wheelbase provided more comfortable ride. Rover 4.0-litre V8 produced 240bhp. Better weather equipment and refinement than Griffith while retaining exciting character. Popular choice for those wanting usability with TVR performance.
Known Issues to Watch For
Longer wheelbase puts different stress on chassis - check rear outrigger corrosion. Rover V8 standard issues. Hood mechanism complex and can fail. Better weather sealing but still not car-wash proof. Fuel tank position can cause gauge issues. Electrical earth problems.
