1997 Porsche 911 (993) Carrera S - Manual

The 993 Carrera S was the wide-body variant of the standard Carrera, featuring the Turbo-style wide rear arches without the forced induction. Produced only in 1997-1998, the Carrera S used the same 3.6-litre naturally aspirated engine as the standard Carrera but added the visual drama and wider track of the Turbo body. The wider rear track improved handling stability, and the larger rear wheels allowed for better grip. Inside, it featured upgraded specification including Sport seats as standard. The Carrera S is relatively rare, with only around 2,900 produced, making it a more exclusive proposition than the standard Carrera. Collectors prize these cars for offering Turbo looks with the purity of naturally aspirated power.

All standard 993 Carrera issues apply. Additional: Wide body stone chips more pronounced on rear arches. Check for kerbed wider rear wheels. Rear wheel bearings work harder due to wider tyres. Ensure car is genuine Carrera S and not a Turbo-look conversion (check VIN and build sheet).
