The MG Midget Mk I (1961-1964) revived the small sports car concept using the Austin-Healey Sprite floorpan. The 948cc A-series engine produced 46hp, later upgraded to 1098cc with 56hp. Featured external door handles and quarterlights not found on the Sprite. An affordable entry to sports car motoring.
Rust affects all areas - sills, floors, rear spring hangers, and A-posts. Early 948cc engines wear faster than 1098cc. Rear springs sag. Wiring harness deteriorates. Door hinges wear causing sagging. Engine bay cramped for maintenance.
Wire wheels, heater, tonneau cover. Later 1098cc engine. Original tools and handbook. Matching numbers verification.
